Type: Dutch Barn Name: Hill Crest Farms Dimensions: 40' x 64'6" Side Wall Height: 22' Era: Post Revolutionary War, Circa 1790 This undeniably unique frame is a rare find indeed.  It represents an early example of a Dutch Barn conversion, where the Dutch Barn original to the property was converted into a much larger English style hay barn.  Additionally, this Dutch Barn is quite special in that it's conversion, which took place in 1889, was documented most well in a hand written journal. The original footprint of this barn would have been closer to 40' x 42', however the exact original dimensions are difficult to determine at this time.  A conversion back to the original smaller footprint is possible and would honor more closely the Dutch Barn's original form.
